The inspiration for Ryuten Paul Rosenblum’s photographic work has been developed and refined by decades of Zen practice and temple life. Ryuten’s approach is grounded in qualities such as spaciousness, stillness, clarity, intimacy, incompleteness, and simplicity—the uniqueness of each arising in the present moment. His work has been exhibited in galleries and museums throughout the US and Europe.
As a lineage holder in the tradition of Dongshan and Dogen, Ryuten serves as Vice Abbot of Genrinji, a Zen Buddhist temple located in the Black Forest in Germany. When not in residence at Genrinj, Ryuten lives in San Anselmo, California.
